Tooth whitening is a way of lightening the colour of teeth without physically removing any of the tooth surface. Removal of stains caused by food and drink, can greatly improve the appearance of teeth. Our dentists and hygienists offer in house and take home whitening treatments. Simply ask your dentist if you are suitable for this type of treatment.
For those of you who already have trays made elsewhere, our dentists can check their fit. We are then able to provide you with single top-up syringes.
Whitening is not covered by the NHS, so there is a charge for this treatment.

It is important to realise that if you do have your teeth whitened, you may experience slight sensitivity of the teeth afterwards. This can be counteracted by toothpaste designed for sensitivity used in advance of the treatment.
As with all types of bleaching or colouring, the effects fade over time, so further applications may be necessary. Dietary stains and smoking will reduce the effect of the whitening more rapidly.
